What is Drive Disabler?
Drive Disabler is a hardware-based drive protection solution that allows system administrators to disable access to internal drives. This is accomplished by electronically disconnecting the flow of power to as many as three concurrent drives. The power flow is controlled through the circuitry of the unit allowing administrators to select "enabled and disabled" status via a physical lock and key mechanism.

How does Drive Disabler work?
Drive Disabler encompasses an electronic key switch that controls the protection status of the drives. The product uses an available power supply connector within the PC unit for the “new? power source. The internal drives attach directly to Drive Disabler’s power supply and power is “piped? through the Drive Disabler unit allowing it to control power to the device.

What does Drive Disabler do for me?
Drive Disabler restricts users from accessing sensitive information. Drive Disabler does not rely on permissions or policies established by the administrator in order to restrict unauthorized access to certain drives, it goes directly to the source… the power source! Without power, the drive is absolutely inaccessible by anyone.

What types of companies or organizations benefit from Drive Disabler?
Any organization that has computers that they need to restrict access to certain drives can benefit. Library organizations are perfect for the Drive Disabler product.

How can I benefit?
Protect sensitive information -- store sensitive information on a separate hard drive. This will allow Drive Disabler to disable the hard drive keeping any unwanted guests out of private information. Restrict use to other drives -- keep users from installing software from the CD-Rom drive or from using the CD-Rom tray as a cup holder.
